Welcome to Tailhunter Outdoor Adventures, where anglers from around the world come to join Captain John Tarr on the fabled Mosquito Lagoon.  Located on the Space Coast of Florida, within easy driving from Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Cocoa Beach, the area offers superb fishing for many of Florida’s famous saltwater fish.  Redfish, seatrout, snook, tarpon, black drum and more await you in one of the most visually spectacular areas Florida has to offer.  This truly is the area where cutting edge, space technology unites with the wild, natural beauty of the Florida wetlands.

 

Mosquito Lagoon and the surrounding waters offer miles of shallow water, sight fishing opportunity.  Here, in the company of Captain John Tarr, anglers will pit their skills against some of the wariest shallow water fish around.  Sight fishing is a team effort where angler and guide mesh together to hunt down their quarry in the shallow, backwater flats along the space coast.  Anglers are tested in their skills of casting, retrieval to entice a prey response, and ultimately fish fighting skills required to land some of the toughest fish on the planet.  All of this action takes place while dolphins frolic, manatees cruise, eagles and osprey soar overhead, and crabs and shrimp dance in the tide.

 

Captain John Tarr has more than three decades of fishing experience in this location.  He has been guiding anglers and sharing his passion for sight fishing for almost 20 of those 30 years.  Captain John is a certified fly-casting instructor, published fly tier and author, and has guided hundreds of anglers to their angling dreams.  Known for his patience and hard work ethic, Captain John has worked with novice anglers as well as some of the finest anglers in the world; either way, he does everything in his power to insure that you have a memorable time on the water and the best chance of successfully catching your dream fish. Capt. Gary Dubiel

Captain Gary Dubiel began fly tying and fishing at the age of eight in Western Pennsylvania, inheriting these skills from his father. He fished rivers and streams for trout, as well as lakes for bass and panfish. His interest in saltwater fly fishing sparked in the late 1970s during visits to the Outer Banks, eventually leading him to relocate to North Carolina and begin his career as a guide. His service, named "Spec Fever" after his passion for speckled seatrout, also offers specialized trips for redfish, stripers, false albacore, and other local species. Gary boasts over two decades of experience in guiding.
