The best flies ever
The first fly I would use is two Clouser Deep Minnows!
Clouser flies are tied several different ways. I have used them all. These flies were tied just perfectly with not too much material and not too little. I purchased just a few to determine this, and will place a larger order and I'll use them for giant snook and tarpon in Belize. Furthermore, the guides I fish with want a bunch as well since they can't get Clousers like this which make a big difference.
Can’t beat Bob’s patterns!
I'll get back on the Yampa River this summer with these pliers! No doubt I'll be the envy of Steamboat Springs because I've never seen anyone with a pair (kind of odd that we call them a pair when there's really just one, right?).
Great book. Just what I was looking for on your flies. Thank you
My own preferences are a #1 or 2 hook. Chartreuse and white or white with red throat. But you use your own selection. These catch larger small mouth, big browns and Great Lakes steelhead. Pike will take them and an occasional carp will chase one down. Even had a catfish chase one down.
